Watch : This former England Off-spinner throw verbal jabs at Virat Kohli following RCB Podcast season 2!

Ever since RCB Podcast season 2 came out, Cricket fans around the world and India have been speculating about Virat Kohli’s comments. The Delhi born batter disclosed many unknown things during his time as a captain and all that took place in his career for India which began decades ago.

He made a shocking revelation when he was the skipper that due to his failure to land ICC trophies for India despite reaching the last stages, Kohli was considered as a “Failed Captain”. And why not? Cricket in India is extremely unforgiving especially when you are Virat Kohli and the captain of India.

In the past we have seen many Indian cricketing legends fail to win major ICC silverwares as Captain & Kohli is among them. The likes of Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid among other greats haven’t won any ICC trophy for India. But Kohli has won 2 ICC trophies as player but has failed to win a single trophy as the man in charge.

On that note, former England Off-Spinner Monty Panesar responded to Kohli’s remarks of being a Failed captain. Panesar said that there is no room for recognition to 2nd or 3rd placed team in ICC events as only the champions get remembered.

The 40-year-old former English International also said that this is the challenge you face and pressure you come under for being the Captain of team India. Panesar took to Twitter and said – Unfortunately, that’s the pressure of being captain of India. No one remembers second or third place teams. We always remember winners of ICC tournaments.”

Although, Virat Kohli did not win any major silverware as the Captain, the 33-year-old has a lot to cherish and good memories as the Captain. His record as Skipper in all 3 formats are quite sensational.
