In a recent social media post, former Indian cricketing legend and 1983 World cup winner Sunil Gavaskar shared a heart melting photo of his alongside his former India team mates. The entire WC winning squad got together on a very rare occasion at Kapil Dev’s residence at the capital city.
Fans have flooded social media with tons of reaction after the photo was uploaded. The party was reportedly organized by the man who captained India to a first ever WC victory in 1983 – Kapil Dev. Former greats like Ravi Shashtri, Madan Lal, Sunil Valson and Kirti Azad were present at the get-together.
The Little master Sunil Gavaskar shared a picture with a caption that read – “Wonderful to catch up with the Delhi boys of the ‘83 World Cup team at skipper Kapil’s home. Celebrated India’s win in the Delhi Test. Great dinner, great conversations and a great evening.”

Ravi Shashtri, who also served as the head coach for the Indian national team also uploaded a picture on Twitter which read – “Enjoying a great evening at the Captain’s home in the capital with my colleagues of 83 after India’s sweeping success.”
Thanks to their WC glory, decades later India are giants in World cricket and have won every possible ICC tournament including the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup.
