While Jadeja notched his 250th Test wicket, Ravi Ashwin completed 100 wickets against Australia in the longest format. The former also became the fastest Indian to take 250 wickets and score 2500+ runs in 62 Tests and it also makes him the 2nd fastest in the world to have such an extra-ordinary all-round performance.
Milestone 🚨 – @imjadeja becomes the fastest Indian and second fastest in world cricket to 250 Test wickets and 2500 Test runs 🫡🫡#INDvAUS pic.twitter.com/FjpuOuFbOK

But one of the moments that took place today was KL Rahul’s magnetic one-handed effort to remove the dangerously set Usman Khawaja for 81 runs. Rahul timed his leap towards the right perfectly and pulled off an athletic catch to give India the breakthrough.
ICYMI – WHAT. A. CATCH 😯😯

He would have anyways received full marks for his effort had he dropped the catch but the fact the Khawaja was reading spin very well and was set at the crease made Jadeja’s wicket even more special. The Aussie was playing all kinds of shots and Khawaja got caught as struck a reverse sweep.

The Batter himself was in shock as his 59-run stand with Peter Handscomb came to an end in the 45th over. Khawaja got unlucky but he did produce stiff competition against Ashwin and Jadeja today. But for now, Australia will look to unfurl their Spin trio of Nathan Lyon, Todd Murphy and debutant Matthew Kuhnemann.
