Watch: Bayern Munich thrash German 9th Tier club FC Rottach-Egern with unthinkable scoreline of 27-0

Bundesliga Giants Bayern Munich kicked off their pre-season campaign in the best way possible as they defeated 9th Division outfit FC Rottach-Egern by 27-0. Sounds a bit unreal and sounds as if they were playing FIFA but the reality is that Bayern have now defeated the same club by 70-2 on aggregate in their last 3 meetings.

Back in 2018, the 2 clubs locked horns for the first time in a pre-season game with Bayern winning the match by 20-2. A year later they met again and the Bavarians thrashed them by 23-0. And yesterday was the first time in over 2 years that both the clubs played against each other with Rottach-Egern getting humiliated once again.

Bayern do have a habit of scoring a lot of goals but 27-0 is a little too much. In 2020, they handed FC Barcelona an 8-2 defeat when Lionel Messi was still a Barca player. The club’s mentality right from the very beginning has been ruthless. They know exactly what they are doing.

Though ever since winning the UEFA Champions League during the COVID affected 2020, they haven’t been able to get past the Quarter-final stages. Last year they succumbed to a 4-1 aggregate loss against European Champions Manchester City in the QFs of UCL before they dramatically won the Bundesliga on the final day of the season.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are bringing in reinforcements in their defense with Kim Min Jae becoming the latest recruitment. The South Korean defender helped Napoli win their first Serie A title in 30 years and he was watching over Bayern as they scored 27 goals.

A look at the Goal Galore of Bayern Munich against Rottach-Egern

Its a little hard to believe but the Bavarians had 13 different goal scorers in their 27-0 win. None of the players were wanting to miss out from the Goal fiesta and so every one joined in for the kick-about. 3 players – Jamal Musiala, Marcel Sabitzer and Mathys Tel scored 5 goals each and shared 15 goals between them.

Serge Gnabry bagged a hat-trick with Alphonse Davies, Noussair Mazraoui, Konrad Laimer, Dayot Upamecano, Leroy Sane, Sadio Mane, Raphael Guerreiro, Ryan Gravenberch and Kingsley Coman. Coming up next for Bayern Munich are some high-octane Pre-season matches against Treble winners Manchester City followed by a friendly with J-League side Kawasaki on 26th and 29th July.

They will take on Liverpool and Monaco on 2nd and 7th August before the Bundesliga action begins from 19th August.
