1) 226/6 vs Barbados Tridents

July 2016 was the last time when St. Lucia Zouks won a match. Their two-year streak of defeat ended when West Indies legend, Kieron Pollard‘s maiden T20 century kick-started the Zouks to a CPL record total of 226 to help break a 14-match losing streak in a 38-run win over Barbados Tridents. After giving away a golden chance at breaking the CPL’s longest streak of defeat 24 hours earlier, Obed McCoy‘s brilliant spell of slower balls rejected a late charge by the Tridents to help clinch St Lucia’s first win. It was Pollard who brought up triple figures in the final over with his eighth six which was a flat over long-on. It was the 17th six of the innings. As the match gave Zouks finally a new winning streak, it was also the match that gave them their highest run total ever in the history of their CPL journey. With a run rate of 11.30, 226 for 6 is the first-ever highest score for the Zouks.

2) 212/2 vs T&T Riders

After a slow start to the 2018 CPL edition, which was marked as three consecutive losses, St Lucia Stars’ season however had a ray of hope, after a trio of half-centurions ignited them to a yet another franchise record total. Although, the Trinbago Knight Riders were pretty impressive too, as they, maintained their record over the Zouks, and went on to crush them with a stunning five-wicket defeat at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet.

Speaking of the Zouks, David Warner, Rakheem Cornwall and Kieron Pollard all crossed their half-centuries respectively, each in differing styles, to take their home side to 212 for 2. And yet, it was less enough to keep it away from the hands of Darren Bravo and Brendon McCullum who launched a stunning late slaughter with a 137-run fourth-wicket partnership. Needing just 85 runs off the last five overs, Knight Riders reached the finished line with a ball to spare. Despite the game wasn’t under the favour of the Zouks, it was still the second record highest total for the franchise in the history of CPL.

3) 206/3 vs Jamaica Tallawahs

It was Andre Fletcher who batted through a sweating afternoon in the Florida heat, only to make sure he scores a whopping unbeaten 79 runs to script a 63-run win over Jamaica Tallawahs in Lauderhill, Florida. It clinched a playoff reservation for St Lucia Zouks which made them two points clear of Trinbago Knight Riders to claim the third place at that time. St. Lucia Zouks’ amass of 206 runs for 3 was the highest total of CPL 2016 and was the second-highest ever in the four-year history of the CPL journey.

Fletcher played the role of an anchor thoroughly, while Johnson Charles and Shane Watson played the aggressive role giving partnerships of 89 and 59 for the first and second wickets respectively. Charles managed to get seven fours and two sixes in his 59 while Watson smashed five of the out of park sixes to reach 43 off 20 balls. It was the joined efforts of the top order that helped the team get the best of them, and record their third-best total ever since the inception of the CPL.

4) 202/5 vs Barbados Tridents

 

It was the day for England’s Kevin Pieterson and Andre Fletcher has respective seventies led St Lucia Zouks to an easy 30-run victory against Barbados Tridents in Basseterre. The duo added 138 runs for the second wicket which was the highest partnership in the 2015th edition of CPL – the partnership was recorded at merely 75 balls.

Despite Zouks faced a poor start, as they lost Johnson Charles in the second over, Pieterson and Fletcher handled the situation as best as possible. The result was, Tridents found it difficult to stop runs from oozing, initially it was Pieterson who struck three fours in the third over and also smashed Rayad Emrit as well, for two sixes and a four. Pieterson was trapped in the deep midwicket in the 14th over, which lead to a draught for a while, but another late ignition took Zouks to 202 for 5 which was the then highest total of this CPL and fourth highest in the history of the team.

5) 194/3 vs Jamaica Tallawahs

Another show Andre Fletcher and Johnson Charles show as the duo struck half-centuries which aggregated for a 104-run opening partnership, which assisted St Lucia Zouks beat Jamaica Tallawahs by 17 runs. It was Zouks’ fifth win in the last six games concluded at Lauderhill, Florida during CPL 2016. Charles maintained his outstanding form with 64 off 35 balls, and they also brought up his third half-century in his last four innings and made him the leading run-getter in the tournament with 410 runs at 45.55. The match commenced a bit late due to weather, however, the Zouks still managed to come up with the fifth-highest total of CPL, courtesy a dominant batting display by the openers.
