A player what fears the most is getting out on first delivery in T20 World Cup. So let’s check out the list of Indian players with the most ducks in the T20 World Cup.

#1. Ashish Nehra – 3 Ducks

 

Perhaps, no one was expecting this name at the top of the list. One would also wonder if he played this many innings in his T20 World Cup career.

Indian fast-bowler, Ashish Nehra has played 10 matches in his T20 World Cup career. He has batted in three innings and got out on a duck on all three occasions.

He sits at the top of the list of Indian Players with the most ducks in the T20 World Cup 

#2. Gautam Gambhir – 2 Ducks

 

The former Indian cricketer claims the second spot with 2 ducks to his name in his T20 World Cup career. A man of big tournaments, Gambhir Gambhir has made a truckload of runs in big tournaments.

However, apart from making some stellar records, Gambhir has an embarrassing one to his name as well.

He has played 21 matches in the T20 World Cup, of which he went back to the pavilion without opening his account on two occasions. He has made 524 runs at an average of 26.20.

#3. Murali Vijay – 2 Ducks

A fine test opener, Murali Vijay represented India in the 2010 edition of the T20 World Cup. Vijay played 4 matches, out of which he went back on a duck once.

He has scored 57 runs in 4 matches, with an average and strike rate of 26.20 and 118.0. Clearly, Vijay’s T20 World Cup career was nothing but disappointing.

#4. Dinesh Karthik – 1 Duck

 

Making his debut back in 2004, Dinesh Karthik has been in and out of the team throughout his career. The wicket-keeper batsman, 34, still remains in contention for the selection, owing to his ability to transform his game as per the demand of the team. 

Dinesh Karthik, today, has developed himself into a fine finisher and he has proved that on numerous occasions while playing for India.

Dinesh Karthik has played 6 matches in his T20 World Cup career, of which he got out on a duck once. He sits on the list of Indian batsmen with the most number of ducks in the T20 World Cup.

#5. Robin Uthappa- 1 Duck

Making his debut in 2006 against England, Robin Uthappa’s stay in International cricket didn’t last too long. He played his first and only T20 World Cup in 2007. He played all the games for India in the inaugural edition where he could muster up 113 runs in 7 matches with the highest score of 50.

Uthappa got out for a duck once in the 2007 edition, which makes him the fifth Indian batsman with the most number of ducks in the T20 World Cup.

Overall, he has represented India in 46 one-day internationals, 13 T20 internationals, scoring 934 and 249 runs respectively.
