This stands as the highest-run partnership for the first wicket in the league to date.
2. Jonny Bairstow and David Warner – 185 Runs Partnership
The second-highest runs opening partnership came before the first one when the opening pair of left and right-handers Warner and Bairstow took on RCB in 2019 to create the second-highest opening partnership for the first wicket. The duo posted 185 runs together.
3. Gautam Gambhir and Chris Lyyn – 184* Runs Partnership
In the 2017 season of the Indian Premier League KKR was taking on Gujarat Lions. The combo of left and right-hand openers collapsed the Lion’s bowlers. The 184-run partnership of Gambhir and Lynn secured the third spot on the list.
4. KL Rahul Mayank Agarwal – 183 Runs Partnership
KL Rahul accompanied Mayank Agarwal to create the fourth-highest runs opening partnership. The combo of right-handers took on Rajasthan Royals to butcher the bowling. Both batsmen amassed 183 runs together in the 2020 season of the Indian Premier League.
5. Ruturaj Gaikwad and DP Conway – 182 Runs Partnership
Ruturaj Gaikwad and D Conway took the Sunriser Hyderabad to amass the whopping 182-run partnership. The batsmen opened for the Chennai Super King and posted 182 runs on the board together last year.
