January has arrived and it is that time of the year when most of the clubs in the Europe would be looking to revisit their squad and think about making some crucial changes in order to streamline their coming season. Moreover, English premier league would surely be in the limelight once again with most of the clubs looking around to bring on their transfer targets in order to strengthen their hopes to clinch the EPL title before its get too hard.
Although teams like Liverpool, Manchester city, and Chelsea have already hit the right chord in their title challenge, it would be all down to struggling teams like Manchester united, Tottenham Hotspur and others who would like to bring on some hope for their existence in the top four. On the other side, some of the key players from the teams would be heading other ways as well and teams really need to find a suitable replacements for the same in due time. Whilst that been said, let’s take a look at the top 5 expected transfers in EPL in January.
1. Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard has been the talisman for Chelsea in the past few years and one of the most sought after players by many teams across the Europe recently. Moreover this Belgian international has been chased by Real Madrid for quite some time now and it was been believed that if Zidane would not have left Madrid, hazard could have been heading the other way round. Chelsea, on the other side is adamant to not let go this player and are still trying their best to keep him interested at Stamford Bridge with best weekly wage package on offer to this season campaigner.
Real Madrid, apparently, is struggling after the exit of Ronaldo and their side is languishing at the fourth spot in the La Liga table. It is also been said that both the players and fans are extremely miffed off from club’s president Florentino Perez for being unable to find a suitable replacement for the Portuguese for quite some time now. Whilst this is happening, it is more than likely that hazard would be finding a place in the Madrid squad and Madrid would be splashing some big money in order to lure this Belgian international to Bernabeau.
2. Aaron Ramsey
Aaron Ramsey has been phenomenal in his stint with Arsenal in the past few years and his record at the Emirates speaks better than anything about his performance for his favorite team in the past 10 years. Even though he used to be termed as a favorite for former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, the player has improved quite well under the new manager emery as well but recent development in his contractual terms with the club certainly directs towards an exit for this prolific player away from the Gunners.
The welsh international has significantly been phenomenal in this season as well and provided 6 assist with 3 goals to his name but dispute regarding his wage bill is something which has created some sort of difference between him and the arsenal management. This is the reason why he is now negotiating terms with some of the big names like Juventus, PSG, Barcelona along with some teams in EPL itself like Manchester United and Chelsea alongside. Although it would be unfortunate for the gunners to let him go this season, we can surely expect to see it happening this January.
3. Adrian Rabiot
Adrian Rabiot is heavily linked recently with a possible move to the defending EPL champions Manchester city and whilst this famous French midfielder might not be having a good time at PSG, chances are that he will end up coming to EPL for sure. If we talk about his performance, he has been simply magnificent in his past season for the French Ligue 1 champions and played a key role in their domination in France for a long time now.
Although Paris is home to him and he has spent most of his time playing in France only, his recent negotiations for a probable contract didn’t fell in place as per the reports in French media. While PSG was looking up to him as a successor to Thiago in future, chances are high that this midfielder would be heading out from the club in the times to come. Talking about his expected destinations, Barcelona is chasing him big time along with Manchester city and quite recently fresh bids have came from teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and spurs alongside to lure him to EPL this summer.
4. Paul Pogba
It was been believed that Paul Pogba wasn’t really happy under the management of Jose Mourinho at Manchester United and rumors were around that he might be heading back to Juventus or a switch to Barcelona may come as a possibility. Now when Mourinho has been sacked by the United, Pogba seems like getting back the satisfaction and happiness he was looking for at united all this time and whilst this been said, he is unlikely to join any other team sooner.
Still there have been reports doing rounds in Spain and Italy that Pogba might end up at La Liga or Serie A as he is not having the time of his life at the theatre of dreams. Moreover, with united not fancying any chances to put their hands on nay trophy this season, chances are high that Pogba might switch to either of the team in order to get his dream of getting the UCL furnished. Seems like wake up call is on for the United fans!
5. Jordi Alba
If reports are to be believed in Spain, Jordi Alba might find his way towards EPL this time around and his probable destinations could be Manchester United, Arsenal or Manchester city. Whilst this Barcelona left back is heavily chased by the other teams like Juventus and PSG as well, fresh claims has been made that Alba would still prefer to come to EPL instead of any other league.
Alba has had a great time in camp nou and his career with probably the best team in Spain is phenomenal in its own sense. Still his contract is about to expire in 2020 and its been quoted by news reports that the player is not willing to extend his deal for a stay at the Barcelona and even the club would like to cash in to his release clause by selling it to some of the biggest clubs away from the La Liga. It’s also been said that while Alba used to be a favorite of Pep Guardiola when he was in charge of the team, chances are high that he would be having a reunion with his old manager at Manchester city.
