“Thomas Partey was the signing of the transfer window,”- Kevin Campbell

Arsenal completed the signing of the 27-year-old Ghana midfielder on transfer deadline day from Ath. Madrid. Arsenal’s latest addition of Thomas Partey was the “signing of the summer”, according to former Arsenal Kevin Campbell.

Arsenal, who had a new coach and new system and they were very active in the transfer market this summer, Arsenal recently splashed out £45million to acquire Partey’s talent from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

The agnostic defensive midfielder has signed a four-year deal at the Emirates which will see him earn a £260,000 per week.

Arsenal’s signing of Partey has given them a strong central defensive midfielder in the heart of their midfield, which has often been a major problem for arsenal for few years.

Campbell has been thoroughly impressed by what he’s seen of the Ghanaian and admits he’s amazed he only cost his side £45 million.

“Thomas Partey was the signing of the transfer window,” ex-Gunners frontman Campbell told GentingBet.

“For Arsenal to get him for £45m is tremendous business – Arsenal almost went in with balaclavas on and stole him!

“Atletico Madrid dropped the ball by only having a £45m release clause, he is a player that is a lot better than £45m in this current market, but that was the release cause and Arsenal met it and they have their man

“It is a key position for the club, he is moving into his prime and he will spend those years at the football club, so he is someone that the club can build around in midfield.”

Partey could make his Arsenal debut on Saturday afternoon when the arsenal meets city at the Etihad Stadium.
