Club Atlético de Madrid also known as Atletico Madrid is a Spanish Club based in Madrid that plays top-flight football in La Liga. The club’s home ground is Metropolitano Stadium which can accommodate 68,546 audiences. The club wears traditional red and white stripe jersey for their home matches.

History

Atletico Madrid was founded on 26th of April 1903, the club was founded by three Basque students that lived in Madrid. Earlier it was named Athletic Club Sucursal de Madrid, it was originated by their youth team athletic Bilbao. In 1904 they were also members of Real Madrid.

They started playing in blue and white halved jerseys same as Athletic Bilbao’s shirts later in 1911, both Athletic Bilbao and Athletico Madrid changed it to red and white which they are wearing till date.

Ownership

There are three owners of the club, Miguel Angel Gil Margin that owns 51%, Idan Ofer owns 30% and Enrique Cerezo owns 19% of the club.
