‘This Indian Star bowler gives me nightmares’ reveals England batting giant Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler

One of the top white-ball batters in the world right now is Jos Buttler, the captain of England. The wicketkeeper-batter helped England win the 2019 ODI World Cup and guided the Three Lions to victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia in 2018.

Buttler has experience playing franchise cricket all around the world in addition to his talent for international cricket. Buttler scored five centuries in the previous season of the Indian Premier League, shattering Virat Kohli’s previous mark for most hundreds in a single campaign (4).

When in a recent conversation Buttler was asked to name the “fiercest bowler you’ve ever faced in the T20 circuit”, the English batter named Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

Notably, while playing for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL, Buttler and Bumrah shared a dressing room. Buttler has been dismissed four times by Bumrah in T20 cricket, giving the latter the advantage.

Bumrah has been a natural inswinger producer thanks to his wide crease and high arm release. Bumrah is often known for his perfect yorkers, that have troubled the world class batters so far.

Bumrah is currently sidelined as a result of a stress fracture in his lower back. The first two Tests of the upcoming Test series against Australia will be missed by him as a result. His availability for the final two Tests would be decided by the BCCI later.

India will host the ODI World Cup later this year, therefore Bumrah may have to skip the upcoming IPL season in order to get fully fit for the major tournament.
