The former captain of the Indian national team, Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam hails from the North Eastern part of India. Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam has 150+ appearances to her name. Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam has had the glorious career in the sport while playing as a halfback for the national team.

Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam rose to prominence in 2013 where she led the junior women’s team to a bronze medal finish at Women’s Hockey Junior World Cup. She made her debut to the senior team in the 2014 Asian Games which was held at Incheon. She won the bronze medal.
Sushila Chanu Pukhramabam hit the peak of her career during FIH Hockey World League semifinals. She helped the team earn the fifth place finish. She was also the captain of the national team which took part in the Rio Olympics. She recently won the Bronze Medal in Muscat in the Asia Cup.

Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam Family
Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam was born to Pukhrambam Shyamsundar and Ongbi Lata in 1992. Her father was a driver and had a history of family being involved in the sport. Her grandfather was one of the most successful polo players which garnered her interest toward the sport. She started playing hockey at the early age of 11 and was drafted into the national team setup.

Sushula Chanu Pukhrambam won the bronze medal at the 17th Asian Games 2014 in Incheon, Korea.
Indian women hockey player, Sushila Chanu clinched the bronze medal at the Ergo Hockey Junior World Cup 2013 held at Mönchengladbach, Germany.
