Sourav Ganguly Slams BCCI

Former Indian captain and batting legend Sourav Ganguly Slams BCCI for sending conflict of interest notice to Rahul Dravid. BCCI Ombudsman cum Ethics officer justice DK Jain issued a conflict of interest notice to Rahul Dravid after receiving a complaint from MPCA (Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association) life member Sanjeev Gupta.

He tweeted “New fashion in indian cricket …..conflict of interest ….Best way to remain in news …god help indian cricket ……Dravid Gets Conflict of Interest Notice from BCCI Ethics Officer.”

The complaint states that Dravid is allegedly conflicted as he acquires the position of NCA (National Cricket Academy) Director and is also employed as Vice President of India Cements Group, the owner of Chennai Super Kings.

“Yes, I have sent a notice to Mr. Rahul Dravid last week after receiving a complaint. He has been given two weeks to reply to the allegations of Conflict of Interest. Based on his reply, I will decide whether to proceed further or not,” Justice Jain confirmed the development to PTI.

DK Jain is the same person, who also filed a conflict of interest complaint against Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman for playing dual role as cricket advisory committee members as well as mentors for Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively.

Both the legends categorically refused to have any conflict of interest. Tendulkar made it clear in his affidavit that he doesn’t take any penny from Mumbai Indians for his mentor services.

Laxman too stated that he won’t like to continue as Sunrisers Hyderabad mentor if it is found to be conflicted with his CAC responsibilities.

Sourav Ganguly himself faced conflict of interest allegations by Bhaswati Santua for being CAB president as well as mentor of Delhi Capitals.
