Real Madrid wants Senegalese international. Will that make sense for both the parties involved?

Sadio Mane

Amid speculation suggesting that Sadio Mane is wanted by Real Madrid, Liverpool have been warned that they might face a difficult decision on their hands.

According to the opinion of Gab Marcotti, the ESPN pundit, the Reds should sell Sadio Mane instead of either Roberto Firmino or Mohamed Salah, based on his belief.  Therefore, Liverpool now have a difficult situation in their hands, because they shouldn’t be keeping all three of their star strikers at once. In recent days, the Senegalese international, Sadio Mane has been linked with a huge move to Real Madrid.

By having scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in a total of 26 games for the runaway Premier League leaders, The Jurgen Klopp’s signing from Southampton has been on fire this entire season though the player was injury-ridden for a while.

The Senegalese star who is currently under a contract until 2023, the rumours haven’t stopped the speculation over his future in the club.

The Spanish capital-based outfit is exploring the possibility of making a huge bid in the summer and are reportedly monitoring Mane’s situation at Merseyside.

Due in part to the very disappointing start to life at the club which is made by summer signings of former Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic, Los Blancos are waiting for the transfer window to open in order to replenish their attacking front.

Though they have only managed three league goals between them this season, the pair have cost Madrid a combined total of £145 million last summer. With Florentino Perez ready to splash the cash in the transfer window, Sadio Mane can be the ideal solution for Real Madrid after their previous signings misfiring throughout the season.

And Marcotti, speaking on ESPN FC, on the fact that they shouldn’t have three of their strikers of the same age, explained why he believes Liverpool should be concerned over their forward three. The ESPN anchor said that the move of Senegalese superstar to Madrid would make more sense for both the parties.

The anchor, Marcotti opined:

“The reality is that Mane, Salah and Firmino are all around the same age,”

“You really don’t want three strikers getting old around the same time.

“They’re all going to get very big contracts and Liverpool know that.

“If they could get the right price, Liverpool would be open to selling one of those three.

“Of those three, Mane is the most sellable asset.

“Real Madrid need attacking players, because the ones they have are getting old or almost permanently injured, or players that Zinedine Zidane doesn’t want like Gareth Bale.

“It makes sense.”
