Real Madrid defeat Barcelona in the crucial match and moves to the top of the summit

In what was considered as the first El Clasico of the new decade, Real Madrid defeated the Catalan giants to top the table in Serie A. Zinedine Zidane managed side defeated Barcelona by a scoreline of 2-0 after they were battered by Manchester City in the midweek.

Also, Gerard Pique cleared the header of Isco to keep the scoreline undisturbed.

With higher work rate and his electric pace, Vinicius Jr looked threatening but there was no final output by the player. However, the player clinically finished Toni Kroos’ weighted pass and put the Spanish capital-based outfit into the driving seat after 71 minutes. Further, Mariano, who made his first appearance of the season, added the final nail in the coffin of Blaugrana blues to hand Real Madrid a victory in El Clasico at Santiago Bernabeu since 2014.

The victory for Los Blancos meant that they go on top of the table with 56 points in their kitty from 26 games. On the other hand, Barcelona are just a point behind Real Madrid in the league table with 55 points. However, the victory has boosted Zinedine Zidane and his side who were enduring difficult times of the late.
