‘RCB haven’t won anything but their attitude…’ Gautam Gambhir’s controversial statement

RCB player Virat Kohli and Gautam gambhir

Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Gautam Gambhir has termed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as the least achieving team in the IPL, whereas at one time they had Virat Kohli, Chris Legends like Gayle and AB de Villiers were present together.

KKR and RCB will face each other in the 10th match of IPL 2024 on 29th March. Before this match, Gautam Gambhir said that as a player he has won many memorable matches against RCB, and today once again he wants to beat Faf du Plessis’ team.

I would like to defeat RCB even in my dreams: Gautam Gambhir

While talking with Star Sports Gautam Gambhir shared his dream to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore. he said,

The one team I want to beat every time, even in my dreams, is RCB. The second most high profile team of IPL and a dynamic team, which despite having Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle together, did not win anything, but still their attitude is such that they won everything.

Gambhir, during this conversation, also highlighted three of KKR’s most memorable wins against RCB. The KKR mentor further added,

KKR’s three best wins so far against RCB – the first match of the IPL, the 140-run win against RCB off the back of Brendon McCullum’s 158-run innings. When RCB was all out for 49 runs. Century in 6 overs, probably the first time in IPL when 100 runs were scored in the first 6 overs. Whose credit goes to Chris Lynn and Sunil Narayan.

However, Gambhir clearly said that he considers Royal Challengers Bangalore a strong team and they have an aggressive batting lineup. He said – “We always knew that RCB are a very strong team, and probably the most aggressive batting unit with Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, what could be better than this. If I want one thing from my IPL career, the one thing I would love is to go on the cricket field again and beat Royal Challengers Bangalore.”
