PV Sindhu frontrunner to become one of the India’s flag- bearer at Tokyo Olympics 2020


Indian ace badminton star player and Rio Olympics silver medalist Pv Sindhu is one of the front runner to become the flag bearer for the country in the upcoming mega event as there will be one male and one female for every country who will be bearing the flag in one of the biggest sporting event in the world.

The official announcement will happen at the end of this month but it is certain that Sindhu will be one of the flag bearers.

“Sindhu is likely to become one of the flag bearers” an IOA source told PTI.

Although it’s not convention but the person who clinch medal in last Olympics becomes the one who bears flag in marquee event.

If you look at the last season of Olympics only two female athletes won medal for India one being PV Sindhu and other one was wrestler Sakshi Malik.

As Sakshi has not qualified for this season so Sindhu becomes obvious front runner for the upcoming season in Olympics 2020.

When it comes to make athlete who is likely to Sindhu will be some big stars like Neeraj Chopra, Achanta Sharath Kamal, Bajrang Punia and Amit Panghal.

However no male athletes were not successful to win medal in last Olympics held in Rio 2016. As per Gracenote, Olympic statstical expert India is likely to win 17 medals in Tokyo 2020 including 4 gold medals.
