After two days of fierce competition in the PKL season 9 it was time for day 3 to unfold. Jaipur Pink panthers and Patna Pirates started the proceedings with an action packed contest. The three times champions Patna pirates were coming off from a draw in their first match while the Pink panthers had to endure a narrow defeat yesterday against Haryana Steelers.

As the match began, the Jaipur team started to pick up the momentum and bagged a few points – thanks to the solid defensive play by Defender Ankush, who took 4 tackle points.

Patna All-rounder Rohit Gulia was on fire as he completed his Super 10 and performed some outstanding Raids to put pressure on the opposing team. The Pirates were not ready to hold back as they kept cutting the lead short but ultimately failed to capitalize.

The Pirates were trailing by 7 points with 2 minutes at their hands to turn things around. Bhawani Rajput’s smart raid in the last 30 seconds avoided Jaipur from getting all-out. With his raid Jaipur were able to win the match by a margin of 5 points. Jaipur Raider Arjun Deswal proved to be extremely effective for the team and contributed a total of 17 raid points. The final score line at the end of match was 35 – 30.

Bengal Warriors Vs. Telegu Titans

Telegu Titans Vs. Bengal Warriors

The Second match of the evening saw Bengal Warriors lock horns with Telegu Titans.  Bengal lost their previous fixture against Haryana but captain Maninder Singh added his 1000th raid point yesterday and he will be looking win his first match this season. The Titans also had to suffer a defeat by 5 points in their previous match.

The Titans had an extremely experienced defense in the form of Parvesh Bhainswal, Vishal Bhardwaj and Rajnish but the Bengal Warriors made a strong statement right from the start of the match. Maninder Singh was back on his best and kept on stealing points with his unpredictable raids and also performed a super raid to get the Titans all out.

Maninder Singh was breathing fire as he completed his 50th Super 10 of his PKL career and yet again his raid proved to be decisive with Telegu getting all out for the second time in the match. It was a one-sided first 20 minutes in favor of the Bengal Warriors as they collected 25 points and the Telegu Titans had only 10 points to show from their first-half.

Vishal Bhardwaj was the only Titans defender who was contributing the most as he added 3 Tackle points out of their 18 points with 10 minutes remaining. The Warriors meanwhile were miles away with 37 points to their name.

Bengal captain Maninder Singh and all-rounder Deepak Hooda both super Raided the Titans defense, and Raider Shrikant Jadhav also contributed to Bengal’s increased lead.

One sided is not enough to describe Titans’ loss today. They bought some very reputed players during the auction but a brilliant performance by the Bengal team saw the Titans get beaten by a huge deficit of 20 points. The final score line at the end of the match: Bengal Warriors – 45 and Telegu Titans – 25.

Puneri Paltan Vs. Bengaluru Bulls

Last match of day 3 in Pro Kabaddi League season 9

Two extremely strong teams were against each other for the third and final fixture of PKL season 9 day 3. Jaipur Pink Panthers and Bengal Warriors won convincingly in the previous two matches and it was for the winner of the third match to prevail.

The Puneri Paltan started the game on a dominating note but slumped later on as the Bengaluru Bulls got them all out twice in the first half. Raider Bharat from Bulls completed his Super 10 in the first half and as the initial 20 minutes ended in 14-27 in favor of Bengaluru Bulls. 

Bharat received the man of the match award for collecting a total of 12 Raid points out of 14 raids, aiding to his side’s close victory. Pune Raider and Captain Aslam Inamdar tried his best to bring his side back into the match as he collected 12 raid points but failed to win this match. 

The Bengaluru defense which featured Mahender Singh, Saurabh Nandal, Aman and Rajnesh brought the Bulls back into the match and helped them to win the match by 2 points. The Final score line at the end of 40 minutes was 41-39.
