After that he played for Kochi Tuskers then Chennai Super Kings bought Ravindra Jadeja in 2012 IPL season for $ 2mn and that made him the first million-dollar baby in IPL history.

He played most of his international matches and IPL under MS Dhoni. But he failed to justify the faith shown by the captain & franchise.  In the last few seasons, he failed to complete his full quota of over’s. He disappoints his team with the ball as well as bat. Apart from a few batting and bowling performances, he wasn’t up to the mark.

Player of the tournament in 2011 World Cup Yuvraj Singh wasn’t up to the mark in IPL. He is the same player who played a key role in the 2007 T20 WC victory. After failures for Pune Warriors India in 2014 IPL Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for 14 Cr and then Delhi Daredevils bought him for 16 Cr that make him the most expensive player ever sold in the IPL history.

But he failed to perform after whopping money on both occasions. In the 2019 season he was unsold in the first slot but after that Mumbai Indians bought him for 1Cr.

#3 Dinesh Karthik

Indian wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik played for Delhi Daredevils in the 2008 IPL then he played for Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians. In the 2014 IPL Delhi Daredevils bought Dinesh Karthik for $ 2.08 mn.

After scoring 325 runs in that season Delhi released him for 2015 auction and then Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for $ 1.75mn but he scored only 141 runs that season. Consistency always a problem for Dinesh Karthik but always in the list of the wicket-keeper batsman.

#4 Jaydev Unadkat

Jaydev Unadkat left-arm seamer from Saurashtra who captained Saurashtra in Ranji Trophy. In 2017 IPL he joined Rising Pune Supergiant as a replacement but he performed really well in that season he was the second-highest wicket-taker for that season as he took 24 wickets in 12 matches with an economy of 7.02. That helped his team to reach in Final.

In 2018 IPL Rajasthan bought him for whopping 11.5 Cr but he failed in that season as he bagged only 11 wickets. Rajasthan released him from the squad for 2019 IPL auction but in 2019 IPL Rajasthan bought him for the highest 8.4 Cr. On one side Mumbai Indians bought Barinder Sran for 3.4 Cr with the same qualities as Unadkat have.

#5 Glenn Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell was bought by Delhi Daredevils in 2018 IPL for a whopping amount of 9 Cr. In 2014 season he scored 552 with an average of 34.5 for Kings XI Punjab. But apart from this, he didn’t perform well for respective teams.

But investing 9 Cr on Maxwell who wasn’t in good form and also he was out of the national team. Consistency always a big question for Glenn Maxwell. Sometimes players remain unsold or some players get unexpected bid that’s IPL for a reason. Shahid Afridi will be a similar word for Glenn Maxwell.
