Two-time women’s grand slam champion, Naomi Osaka is all set to play in US Open this year. This news was confirmed by her agent Stuart Duguid.

Japanese star player clinched US Open in 2018 followed by Australian Open in 2019. However, current number 1 Tennis player Ash Barty withdrew her name from the US Open this year due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in America.

One of the biggest tennis sporting events is scheduled to start from August 31 to September 13. Several star players have refused to participate this year in USA given more than 1,50,000 people have died from COVID-19 in the country.

Also, no major tennis tournament has been played post-pandemic from March onwards which is not a good sign for this popular sport. Both the women’s and men’s plan to return on the tennis court in August.

Osaka is also one of the most marketable and highest-earning female athletes in endorsement income in 2020. Her style of playing is quite aggressive and her serves are usually powerful which can reach up to 125 miles per hour.

This makes her one of the fastest servers in WTA history. Her key to success is the longest rallies where she completely dominates her opponent.

The major credit in her playing style should be given to her coach Sascha Bajin as she added “Since I was working with [Bajin] — and I tend to be a bit negative on myself — I feel like I’ve gotten a little bit more optimistic … I fight myself a lot, so he’s sort of been, like, the peacemaker.”
