GT vs MI: Mumbai Indians Batters vs Gujarat Titans Spinners

GT vs MI: Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans are two teams having very a stable side with proper balance between batting and bowling. Gujarat’s is probably the best bowling attack in the IPL whereas there is no competition for that MI middle order starting from Surya Kumar Yadav to Nehal Wadhera in the league.

Today’s match is basically a contest between Mumbai’s batters or their chasing abilities and Gujarat’s bowlers or their defending abilities. It is as perfect as a contest could ever get. If we narrow down this too, the match result of today’s Qualifier 2 will depend on the battle between Mumbai’s batters and Gujarat’s spinners.

Mumbai Indians’ middle order has Surya Kumar Yadav, Cameron Green, Tilak Varma, Nehal Wadhera, and Tim David. All of these batters except Tim David are excellent players of spin and have the ability to send the ball really far into the stands.

But it won’t be easy for them to do that today because they will face Rashid Khan, the world’s best leg-spinner in T20 cricket, and almost his lookalike but a left-armer, Noor Ahmed.

Rashid and Noor’s duo has been a blessing for GT this season as both of them have turned the matches in GT’s favor during the middle overs with their magical spin bowling but it is highly unlikely this will happen today as they will be up against some really good players of spin. It is going to be a really exciting matchup when Rashid Khan bowls to Surya Kumar Yadav. It will be interesting to see whether he plays out Rashid or continues his attacking game and plays like Sky.

Hardik Pandya will be keen on using these 8 overs of spin very carefully because these overs could make or break the game for GT. Rohit Sharma on the other hand will also think about maintaining left-right combination in the middle because if Rashid and Noor get an opening, they won’t take much time to rip through the whole batting lineup of Mumbai Indians.
