Men’s Hockey World Cup: How can India Qualify for the next round of marquee event?

Team India has put on a strong display in the ongoing Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023, winning their first game 2-0 against Spain and then drawing with England.

Regarding the first game, their defence was excellent, and both new and seasoned players stepped up to save the Indian team when it needed the most.

Speaking of that game, Amit Rohidas scored the game’s opening goal with an outstanding assist from Harmanpreet Singh, and Hardik Singh scored the game’s second goal.

India put up a fight but was unable to defeat the formidable England, but it was clear from the manner India performed in the second game that our national team has a bright future.

If this team performs well, we can do anything, even win the World Cup. The important thing is that we continue to play well, and that is the challenge.

India, which has played two games and is presently ranked second, must defeat Wales, which is competing in its first World Cup, in order to advance to the next round. Given that both squads have experience under their belts, India will have a substantial advantage over Wales in this match.

India must unquestionably win their upcoming game, and if they do, they will qualify for the second spot given that England will easily defeat Spain in their final game. As a result, the host nation will finish in second place and will then play the team that finishes in third place because the marquee event is based on two formats—the League Stage and Cross Over stage.

The cross-over stage, where the teams from the second and third positions will battle against one another to qualify for the second team from different pools, is straightforward to grasp.
