Mayank Agarwal’s 215 is Now the Highest Individual Score in Tests in 2019

Mayank Agarwal is the talk of the town after his double ton against South Africa in the first test. It was a dream debut for Mayank Agarwal at home soil. Interestingly Mayank Agarwal’s 215 is now the highest individual score in tests in 2019, surpassing Steve Smith 211 against England during the fourth Ashes test.

Other players in the list are West Indies Jason Holder 202 not out, New Zealand Kane Williamson 200 not out and Ross Taylor 200.

Mayank Agarwal is the only fourth Indian batsman to convert maiden test century into double, the rest three are Dileep Sardesai, Vinod Kambli and Karun Nair.

Steve Smith tops the chart with most runs in a series

Although Mayank Agarwal has the highest 2019 test individual score to his name, Steve Smith still holds the record for most runs in a series with 774 runs in 4 Tests at an average of 110.

The other players to even cross 500+ run mark in a test series are Ben Stokes (627), Rory Burns (547), Quinton De Kock (539), Joe Root (535) and Travis Head (515).

Ironically no Indian batsman has managed to cross 500 runs in a series.
