Manchester United Number 10 Marcus Rashford scores in 8 consecutive games

The English International becomes the second player to do so since Wayne Rooney in 2010

Manchester United’s English International Marcus Rashford has found his rhythm and form back under manager Erik Ten Hag as he has already surpassed his goal tally from last term. This season he has already eclipsed his goal total from last season and has scored twice as many goals.

Rashford was struggling to find his form due to the annual changes in Manchester united’s managerial post but Ten Hag has revived his career to a different level. During the FIFA World Cup 2022 too, Rashford was an integral part of the Three Lions, scoring 3 goals in 5 outings.

Rashford only scored 4 goals in the Premier League last term and counted for just 7 G/A in all competitions but this year he has found the back of the net 7 times already in the English top-flight.

He has also become only the second player since Wayne Rooney in 2010 to score in 8 games in a row at Old Trafford. He achieved this feat yesterday after scoring 2 late goals against Charlton Athletic in Carabao Cup Quarter-finals.

He has successfully filled the big boots of Cristiano Ronaldo who was United’s top-scorer last season. The Club was missing an instinctive goal poacher and Rashford has impressed his head coach with 21 G/A already in all competitions.

The Red Devils are gearing up to square off against crosstown rivals Manchester City in their next Premier League fixture on 14th January. United failed to win both the derbies last season and when the two teams met for the first PL derby of 22/23 back in October, they were thrashed by 6-3 at the Etihad Stadium.

But now with momentum and form by their side, Erik Ten Hag will be hopeful of producing a major turnaround which can put them in the title winning conversation.
