The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are currently searching for a new captain after parting ways with Faf du Plessis. While many fans and experts believe that Virat Kohli, the former RCB captain, could once again lead the franchise, the team management has not yet made any official announcement.

When asked about Kohli’s potential return as captain, Menon stated, “Currently, we have not decided anything. We have multiple leaders in the team. 4-5 leaders are there. We have not deliberated what we need to do. We will deliberate, and we will come to a conclusion.” This statement suggests that Kohli is certainly in the running for the captaincy role.
Virat Kohli’s record as RCB captain is impressive. He led the team in 143 matches, winning 66 of them. Although RCB haven’t won the IPL title under his captaincy, he led them to the finals in 2016, where he scored a brilliant half-century.
RCB made some significant signings in the recent IPL auction, acquiring players like Phil Salt, Liam Livingstone, Jacob Bethell, Tim David, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jitesh Sharma, Devdutt Padikkal, Josh Hazlewood, Romario Shepherd, Nuwan Thushara, and Suyash Sharma, among others. These acquisitions have strengthened the team and provided them with a balanced squad for the upcoming season.
The decision on who will lead RCB in IPL 2025 will have a significant impact on the team’s performance. If Kohli is indeed appointed as captain, he will bring a wealth of experience and leadership qualities to the role.
