Cricketer Kyle Rico Mayers represents Barbados in Cricket. Kyle was born on September 8, of the year 1992. Kyle Mayers participates in all formats of international cricket for the West Indies cricket team. Mayers also competed in the 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup with the West Indies under-19 team. On his Test debut in the month of February of the year 2021, Mayers scored 210 without being out.

He is the son of first-class cricketer Shirley Clarke who also played for West Indies.

Playing Cricket Career

Mayers was chosen to represent Barbados in the 2019–20 Regional Super50 competition in the month of October of the year 2019. In the month of November of the year 2019, Kyle Rico Mayers traveled to Ft Lauderdale, Florida to take part in the US Open. Along with other international athletes including Kjorn Ottley, Ian Cockbain, Max Waller, Delray Rawlins, Alex Blake, Elmore Hutchinson, Ravi Timbawala, Timil Patel, Japen Patel, and many more, Kyle Rico Mayers represented the Paramveer Tigers. Mayers hit his first century in first-class cricket in the month of January of the year 2020 on the first day of the 2019–20 West Indies Championship.

Mayers was one of the eleven reserves in the West Indies Test team for their series against England in the month of June of the year 2020. 

Mayers was selected for the Barbados Tridents roster for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League in July of that year. Mayers was also included in the West Indies T20I team for their series against New Zealand in the month of October of the year 2020. Kyle Rico Mayers played against New Zealand on November 29, of the year 2020, on his West Indies T20I debut.

Mayers was selected for the Test and One Day International (ODI) squads of the West Indies for their series against Bangladesh in the month of December of the year 2020. On January 20, of the year 2021, Kyle Mayers played in his first One Day International (ODI) for the West Indies against Bangladesh. On February 3, of the year 2021, Mayers made his West Indies Test debut, also against Bangladesh. Mayers became the 14th West Indies batsman to record a century on his Test cricket debut with a century on his debut. Kyle led the West Indies to a successful chase of 395, the fifth greatest test chase in history, as he concluded his innings on 210 not out to become the sixth batsman to make a double century in his Test debut. Mayers received his first red-ball central contract with Cricket West Indies in the month of May of the year 2021.

The Lucknow Super Giants purchased Mayers in the month of February of the year 2022 at the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League competition.

In the second innings of the third test of England’s tour to the West Indies on March 27, of the year 2022, Mayers claimed his maiden Test match five-wicket haul against England. The match was played in St. George’s. In the end, Kyle Rico Mayers recorded five for eighteen and took seven wickets in the game. Mayers recorded his first One Day International (ODI) century on June 4, of the year 2022, with 120 runs against the Netherlands in the third and final game of the series. Later, Kyle Rico Mayers went on to score 105 against New Zealand in an ODI (One Day International) century, his second of the match.

On April 1, of the year 2023, Mayers made his IPL debut for the Lucknow Super Giants against the Delhi Capitals, hitting 73 off 38 balls and bowling one over.
