IPL 2023 : After Prithvi Shaw, Viru launches verbal volleys on Dinesh Karthik and Glenn Maxwell for poor outing against KKR!

Following Royal Challengers Bangalore’s embarrassing loss against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, they have once again been stomped below problems in their Batting order after the dismissal of Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plesis.

After 2 matches, it seems as if Kolhi and Faf are the only two reliable options for RCB during pressure situations and big run chases. Although there will be much to address in the bowling unit too but as of now both of the departments need re-arrangements.

From being 89/5 in the 11th over, KKR posted 204 runs as a target for RCB through underwhelming bowling performances from almost every bowler barring David Willey who had figures of 2/16. However, Siraj, Akash Deep, Bracewell, Harshal Patel and Karn Sharma all went for expensive runs.

But what happened later on at Eden Gardens was even worse. You cannot always expect Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plesis to win matches for the team all alone and they need support said Virender Sehwag about RCB’s disappointing batting performance.

Sehwag further stated that Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik and Anuj Rawat must performance when the team is in a critical situation instead of being over dependent on the openers. “You can’t depend on just two players. It’s like only when Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis play well RCB will win. This can’t happen. Glenn Maxwell has to contribute. Dinesh Karthik has to contribute. “said Sehwag.

The 41-year-old also criticized RCB’s impact player yesterday Anuj Rawat who was able to score only 1 run off 5 balls and urged the team to use better Impact players going forward. “Even Anuj Rawat, who came in as an Impact Player, needs to do well. RCB needs to look if there are any better options available than him,” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.

He also highlighted the absence of Rajat Patidar who scored plenty of runs for RCB last season and says that his omission could negatively impact the team. “Rajat Patidar was one man who scored a lot of runs for RCB last year and smashed a century too. He impressed a lot so his injury appears to have jolted RCB a lot,” Sehwag added.
