The 2016 IPL champions Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first game of IPL 2020 in Dubai. Sunrisers have won one game extra against Royal Challengers Bangalore in 14 head to head games. Royal Challengers have won six whereas Sunrisers have seven victories to their name. David Warner will look to keep the record going when he faces Virat Kohli on Monday.

David Warner and his side have always been underdogs and silent achievers in the Indian Premier League. Even in the absence of swash-buckling Australian opener, Kane Williamson led Sunrisers Hyderabad to playoffs when David Warner was caught in the action of ball-tampering. However, the opener returned into the fold in 2019 and proved himself with his batting skills.

In Dubai, there are multiple things at stake for the Hyderabad outfit. They will not only be looking to extend their dominance over Virat Kohli and co but start the season with a bang as like that of Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals. However, it depends on a lot of factors. Here are the three players who can prove to detrimental in Sunrisers Hyderabad‘s pursuit of victory:

#1) David Warner

The swash-buckling Australian opener, David Warner will be back into the Indian Premier League after Australia registering the ODI victory against England in England. Though David Warner is out of form, the Australian can be dangerous on his day.

Last season, David Warner and Jonny Bairstow sent Royal Challengers  Bangalore‘s bowlers packing with their batting prowess. David Warner not only raked up a century but also played his role in a 200+ runs partnership. The Australian will look to continue his fine form against Royal Challengers when both the sides meet in Dubai.

#2) Rashid Khan

The wily Afghanistan leg-break bowler is the most potent weapon in Sunrisers Hyderabad line-up. Though he didn’t have the field day against RCB at Chinnaswamy Stadium in 2019, Rashid Khan can be a dangerous bowler in the slow pitches of Dubai.

From the last two seasons, Royal Challengers Bangalore have failed to pick up the leg-spin. Particularly, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have been dismissed with googly by multiple sides. Though every day is not a Sunday for the players, the off-day can come in the opening game too. With a leg-break bowler like Rashid Khan at his disposal, David Warner will look forward to using him frequently in the game.

#3) Bhuvaneshwar Kumar

Only fast bowler to win two successive purple caps in Indian Premier League, Bhuvneshwar Kumar can have a major say in the proceedings of the game. The fast bowler is not only known for his spells in the initial overs of the game but also during the final overs of the innings too. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar has been an economical bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad during his stay with the side.

Though the likes of David Warner, Jonny Bairstow and Rashid Khan have stolen the limelight in the past, it is Bhuvaneshwar Kumar’s contribution with the ball and sometimes with the bat that has earned the victories for his side. Can he repeat the same against RCB?
