Rajasthan Royals

The IPL 2020 has started on a great note after three teams winning the close games. In the first match of the season, Chennai Super Kings ousted Mumbai Indians whereas, in the second match of the season, Delhi Daredevils came over all the odds to defeat Kings XI Punjab in the super over. To everyone’s surprise, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the closely contested fixture.

On Tuesday, the inaugural season champions take on one of the successful teams in IPL, Chennai Super Kings. Though the team won the first season, they have failed to replicate the same performance in the next eleven season. They have not even reached the final after their inaugural season. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings have won the title thrice after being disappointed in the inaugural finals.

In one of the most crucial games of the season, despite it being their first match, Rajasthan Royals will not have Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes in their armoury as they are yet to finish their quarantine period. Rajasthan Royals will look to put up a strong performance against Chennai Super Kings at Sharjah stadium.

Here are the top three players for Rajasthan Royals against Chennai Super Kings at Sharjah Stadium: 1

#1) Steve Smith

The former Australian skipper is one of the most important players for the Rajasthan outfit when they face Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday. Steve Smith is in a good form after the Australia-England series and will look to continue the same against the Chennai outfit. Steve Smith has a good amount of experience in IPL and his ability to play anywhere the batting order can be an asset for Rajasthan Royals. Under  Steve Smith, Rajasthan will hope to break the jinx of facing Chennai and emerge victorious in the first clash of the season.

#2) Robin Uthappa

With Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes absent from Rajasthan Royals’ first game, there is a lot of responsibility on the shoulders of Robin Uthappa. The former Kolkatta Knight Riders player was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the auction held in January. The veteran player can be dangerous with his unorthodox shots along with the text-book batting skills on the pitch. Uthappa will hope to avenge his previous season’s poor performance against Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday. The former Karnataka and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s player can not only bat but can provide crucial support to the team with his wicket-keeping skills too.

#3) Shreyas Gopal

The wily Karnataka leg-spin bowler is a threat to any opposition not only on spin track but on flat surface too. In the previous seasons, Shreyas Gopal has turned out to be a bargain buy for Rajasthan Royals who bought him for a meagre price of thirty lakh rupees in the auction. The player can not only stop the run flow but can also remove the sting out of opposition by picking the wickets too. Despite proving himself consistently in the domestic circuit and IPL, Gopal hasn’t been able to make it into the national team. After a fruitful Ranji season, Shreyas Gopal has a point to prove for selectors when he faces Chennai Super Kings.
