IPL 2020: Anushka Sharma slams Sunil Gavaskar for dragging her name in his statement on Virat Kohli

Sunil Gavaskar

Legendary player, Sunil Gavaskar has found himself in a big controversy after he made a remark on Virat Kohli during the recently concluded match between RCB and KXIP. During the third over of the RCB’s innings, Sunil Gavaskar made a statement on Virat Kohli which didn’t go down well with Virat Kohli’s fans, with some urging BCCI to sack Sunil Gavaskar from the commentary panel.

In the commentary box, Gavaskar had said: “Ab joh lockdown tha to sirf Anushka ki bowling ki practice ki unhone, wo video dekhi hai (reference to a viral video), usse to kuch nahi hona hai (During the recent lockdown he only practised to Anushka’s bowling, I saw a video. But that is not going to be enough).”

Gavaskar’s words came in the reference to a video where Virat Kohli could be seen playing with Anushka Sharma during the coronavirus enforced break.

Bollywood actress’ Anushka Sharma too found the comment distasteful as she gave a befitting reply to Gavaskar on her Instagram story.

Ab joh lockdown tha to sirf Anushka ki bowling ki practice ki unhone, wo video dekhi hai (reference to a viral video), usse to kuch nahi hona hai (During the recent lockdown he only practised to Anushka’s bowling, I saw a video. But that is not going to be enough)” she wrote on Instagram.

Virat Kohli faced a lot of wrath for his below-par performance in RCB’s second match against Kings Eleven Punjab on Thursday. The Indian skipper dropped KL Rahul twice in the game. The latter went on to score a sensational 132-run knock. Add to that, he failed with the bat as well, scoring just 1 run off 5 balls.
