IND Vs SL 1st ODI : Virat Kohli in line for another ODI Ton?

IND Vs SL 1st ODI Virat Kohli in line for another ODI Ton

India’s Ace batter Virat Kohli is all set to return for the Blues as they take on neighbors Sri-Lanka for the 1st of 3-match ODI series starting from today. He was not a part of the squad for the T20I series which India won by 2-1 and with Kohli coming in, the hosts will look to continue their dominance against Lankan counterparts.

This will be Virat Kohli’s first competitive match for India at home in 2023 and fans are waiting to know if the former Skipper can open the year with a Full century. He recently struck his 44th ODI Ton last year against Bangladesh in the 3rd ODI and in the same match, Ishan Kishan also scored the fastest double century in the format.

Kohli broke his jinx of getting to a much awaited century since 2019 against Afghanistan during the Asia Cup T20 last year. And he got to another Ton as the year ended. But can he keep performing the same on a consistent basis then soon he will be reaching closer to Sachin Tendulkar’s record.

And today when he comes on to bat against Sri-Lanka, he will have a lot of confidence on his mind given the fact that his record against them is grueling. The 33-year-old has scored 2220 runs in 46 Innings against Sri-Lanka alongside 8 hundreds and 11 Half-centuries. Most of his knocks have come at the Sri-Lanka’s slow tracks but his class can never be questioned.

Will he get to his 45th ODI ton today?
