IND vs NZ : This Indian star batter is expected to play in the middle order for NZ series

Ishan Kishan

Ishan Kishan has been going through a magnificent form since his last few matches. He scored a record double hundred in the third ODI played against Bangladesh last month. Despite this he was dropped for the ODI series India played against Sri Lanka and Shubhman Gill was picked up in his place. Shubman Gill, who was chosen ahead of Ishan to open alongside skipper Rohit Sharma as a reward for his consistency and he took advantage of the opportunities by scoring 70, 21 and 116 runs in the Sri Lanka series.

But, now Ishan is back in the squad, being picked for the upcoming series with New Zealand. According to the sources, There won’t be any changes to the starting lineup against the Black Caps, but KL Rahul‘s absence due to personal reasons frees up a spot for Kishan, who is also likely to keep wickets.

Kishan is likely to play in the middle-order as the team would not tinker with the position of Shubhman Gill because of his recent performances, as in result Gill is likely to open for the team alongside skipper Rohit Sharma.

The transition shouldn’t be difficult for Kishan because he has three times batted in the middle order in the ten ODIs he has played. Ishan to play in the middle will enhance the new strategy and challenges for blackcaps. The comeback of Ishan might a give a strong & new built up to the team, as India will look for a good preparation before the World Cup, which is going to held later this year. Besides, this Virat Kohli is also having a good time with bat, hitting back to back hundreds in Bangladesh and Sri lanka series.
