IND Vs AUS 3rd Test : Mitchell Starc could play at Indore despite not being completely fit!

When India welcomes Australia at Indore’s Holkar Stadium on 1st March for the 3rd Test Border-Gavaskar trophy 2022/23, we will be seeing a different Australian team with a new captain alongside a new opening pair. David Warner and Pat Cummins will not be playing in the decisive 3rd Test at Indore which is kind of like “Do or Die” for the Aussies.

While David Warner suffered a concussion on his elbow and got eventually ruled out, skipper Pat Cummins will be staying back in Australia due to his mother’s ill health. Their absence left the door open for Matt Renshaw to secure a spot in the Aussie squad and Steve Smith to once again become the captain for the 3rd test.

Another major update for the visitors has come in the form of Mitchell Starc. The senior Left-arm pacer is in line to make a return in the 3rd Test following his Injury lay-off. His addition into the starting XI will benefit the visitors who have struggled heavily in Indian conditions.

The Baggy greens lost the Nagpur and Delhi on the 3rd day. The first test was rather one-sided as Australia lost by an Innings and 132 runs while the 2nd test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium was pretty much under their control until Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin wiped off the Aussie batting line-up.

Thus, Mitchell Starc will be very important and despite not being completely fit, he will feature in the 3rd test at Holkar Stadium. “I am feeling fine. There’s going to be a level of discomfort for a while. I don’t think it’s going to be a 100 per cent for a fair while, but it’s good enough”. – revealed Starc.
