IND Vs AUS 2nd Test Day 3 : India close to win a historic match at Arun Jaitley Stadium!

It is happening once again. Hosts India have again did their best to embarrass their Australian counterparts as the 2nd test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy 2023 at Arun Jaitley Stadium is close to coming to an end on Day 3. In the first test at Nagpur, the Aussies met a similar fate as they lost by an innings and 132 runs.

In this match, however, Australia won’t lose by an innings but they have given a very easy target to India – 115 all that the hosts need to win. But it wasn’t always the case. Australia’s 1st Inning batting performance was far better than India’s.

The Baggy greens had posted 263 runs in the 1st innings. It looked like a decent score and Australia had India on the back foot for most of the time in the 2nd Innings. But all thanks to Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin, India were able to score 262 runs and trail by just a run.

To some extent, it looked like the match is slipping from the Hosts’ grip as Australia were expected to blast with the bat but they were eventually put in jeopardy by none other than Ravindra Jadeja. The All-Rounder kept his form intact and after a man of the match winning performance at Nagpur, Jaddu is perhaps the reason why India are chasing such a low total.

The left arm off-spinner began his wicket taking spree with Usman Khawaja for 6. Then Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Peter Handscomb, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon all bowed out in front of Ravindra Jadeja. As a result, Australia were restricted to 113 runs and India do not need more than 30 runs to win.
