New Zealand commentator Ian Smith, hailed Indian Skipper Virat Kohli and the hitman, Rohit Sharma, ahead of their Test series commencing from 21st February with the first match to be commencing at Basin Reserve in Wellington.

Rohit Sharma shone like a star, in the Super Over of the Hamilton T20I with few of his amazing sixes. But is not suffering from a calf injury and later missed the rest of the ODI series. He also won’t be a part of the Test series as well and is replaced by Shubman Gill.

In an interview with Xtra Time, Ian said,

“Two of the most beautiful batsmen I can think of in the current era are Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli,” Smith, who played 63 Tests and 98 Tests for the Black Caps from 1980-1982″

Despite Virat not putting up good numbers, Smith is of the opinion that the skipper would give out his best no matter what.

“I expect VK to score one- maybe two- very big innings in the test series,” Smith stated.

The second and final Test gets underway on February 29 at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

Smith also mentioned that the current men in blue are the best due to their power-packed bowling attack.

“This is the best Indian team- with regards to bowling attack- that case come to NZ,” he added.

In the recent Tests, the Indian pacers, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, and Ishant Sharma have ruffled a few feathers while the spinners have taken a backseat.

India is the top-ranked team with 360 points In the World Test Championship, due to their consecutive seven matches win. However, New Zealand on the other hand or on the sixth position of the points table scoring 60 points from 5 matches.
