Indian Squad in New Zealand:- The COA (Committee of Administrators) has temporarily lifted the suspension on Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul on January 24. This doesn’t mean they are free, the matter will proceed once the Supreme Court appoints an ombudsman.

The above decision made by BCCI has given a sigh of relief to both the cricketers (Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul). All-rounder Hardik Pandya is immediately called to join the Indian squad in New Zealand to play ODI and T20 matches.

KL Rahul, on the other hand, will join India A squad in Trivandrum for the last three one-dayers against the England Lions. Both the players were suspended on January 11 for their sexist and misogynistic comments on a talk show. As the show aired on television, the controversy erupted resulting in the suspension of the duo.

Pandya was sent back India from Australia a day before the start of the ODI series, he was replaced by Vijay Shankar in the team, KL Rahul was replaced by Shubhman Gill in the series and will continue to play in the New Zealand series too.

COA is eagerly waiting for the ombudsman to conduct a disciplinary inquiry and propose punishment if necessary. However, the post is vacant since late 2016 after AP Shah resigned from the post.
