“Desperation will not take you anywhere until you realize this” reveals Virat Kohli post 1st ODI Game against SL

In 2023, India won its first ODI match against Sri Lanka by a score of 67 runs. Dasun Shanka deserves praise for his valiant efforts with the willow, as he struck an unbeaten century.

Virat Kohli just finished his 45th one-day international, bringing his total number of hundreds in international cricket to 73, leaving him behind  Tendulkar.

After scoring a scorching 112 runs in the match, Kohli was named Man of the Match. When asked about his excellent run, he responded that he is now in a good frame of mind and enjoying his life.

Virat Kohli said "If you feel desperation in life, then take 2 steps back rather than pushing yourself, it has helped me a lot in the last few months"

More specifically, he said, “In the past few years, when I wasn’t scoring runs, I was desperate to prove a point to all fans and there was certain expectation from me every time I walk into bat. I eventually tried falling into those traps and I realised that it will not take me anywhere. That moment makes you realise that you need to go back to the basics and realise why you started playing cricket in the first place.

Due to his constant performance over the past 10–12 years, Virat Kohli is unquestionably the greatest player of all time, and every time he steps into the middle to bat, the man is closely scrutinised.

India was all but over when they lost 4 fast wickets, but Kohli made sure the Men in Blue crossed the finish line in an epic match with his cover drive and his ability to score under duress. His unbeaten knock of 82 runs against archrival Pakistan will be remembered for a long time.
