Cristiano Ronaldo Gives Update on His Future with Al-Nassr

Portugal born 5-time Ballon D’or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up about his future plans with current employers Al-Nassr in a recent interview with a Saudi outlet. The 38-year-old made an infamous exit from Manchester United earlier this year and Ronaldo has now revealed that he is set to compete for Al-Nassr next season.

He arrived at a record transfer fee of 200+ Million Euros during the 2023 January transfer window. It is important to note that Ronaldo has been having a turbulent time off the football pitch. It all started from the year of 2018 when he won his 5th UEFA Champions League title and 4th with Real Madrid.

In fact the Los Blancos were European champions in 2016, 2017 and 2018 with Cristiano Ronaldo being an integral part of the team. For reasons known, he left Madrid for Juventus later in the 2018 transfer window to find a new challenge outside of Spain.

Many appreciated his versatility and willingness to embark on a challenge and some even stamped their statements by saying that he will win a Ballon D’or with the Italian club that will engrave his legacy forever. However, towards the starting of the 2021/22 season, Ronaldo was available on the transfer market again and Juventus were in panic mode.

The Italians made a total spending of €177.60M/£159.84M to sign Cristiano Ronaldo who was believed to take the Old Lady towards their 2nd UEFA Champions League title. But it did not go as planned. CR7 did win 5 trophies with Juventus during his almost 4 year stay at the Allianz Arena but he was not actually signed for helping the team win Serie A, Coppa Italia and Supercopa Italiana.

Regardless he returned to Manchester United in 2021 and miserably failed to make an impact. Many would also argue about Ronaldo leading the Red Devils away from UCL this year.

Cristiano Ronaldo says he is happy and ready to continue with Al-Nassr

After all of the turmoil he experienced in the past couple of years, Cristiano Ronaldo as of now seems content to be with Al-Nassr next season. He also stated that the Saudi Pro League will improve a 100% if they keep up with their chalked out plans in the next 5 years.

“I am happy here, I want to continue here, and I will continue. In my opinion, if they continue to work on their plans in the next five years, I believe that the Saudi League will become among the five strongest league competitions in the world.” – Ronaldo said.
