FA Cup: How much Cash will the winning team receive?

The Final round of the FA Cup is here as English Premier League champions Manchester City take on crosstown rivals Manchester United at Wembley later this evening. This is going to be both of the club’s first ever meeting in the Finals at London and one of the teams will bag home the prize money of less than 3 Millions.

For a fact, FA Cup is one of the oldest footballing leagues in England and around the globe. But its actual prize money is way less than you would have thought. Its first ever edition was played way back in the 1870’s with Wanderers FC winning the inaugural edition. North-London outfit Arsenal who were challenging Manchester City for the Premier League trophy this season, continues to be the tournament’s most successful side.

The Gunner have won the 152-year-old tournament 14 times while Manchester United are the 2nd most successful team in FA Cup. Erik Ten Hag’s men will be aiming to win their 13th FA Cup title as they look to stop Manchester City from winning a Treble, something the Cityzens have never done in their history.

Moreover, the last time an English team won the Treble was Manchester United during the 1998/99 season. Since then no English outfit has been able to do so but Manchester City might if they win tonight and on June 10 against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League Final.
