Amir took 3 wickets for 20 runs in his 4 overs, while Pitman also bagged an equal number of wickets for 27 runs in his 4 overs. However, their bowling efforts were not enough to prevent the Knight Riders from winning the match by 2 runs.
The Jamaica Tallawahs won the toss and elected to ball first. Put into bat first, the Knight Riders got off to a good start, with openers Martin Guptill and Mark Deyal putting on 58 runs for the first wicket. However, Pitman struck in the 8th over to dismiss Deyal for 30.
The Tallwahs kept up the pressure and picked up regular wickets, with Amir also getting into the act. The Knight Riders were eventually restricted to 142 for 8 in their 20 overs.
In reply, the Tallawahs got off to a good start with their openers laying a strong foundation. Their openers Brandon King and Alex Hales combined to form 57 runs for the first wicket. However, when Salamkheil struck in the 8th over, the Tallawahs were on the back foot and could not recover from the loss.
Despite their loss, the Tallawahs will be encouraged by the performances of Amir and Pitman. They are two of the best bowlers in the CPL and will be key to the Tridents’ chances of winning the tournament.
Here are some additional details about Amir and Pitman’s bowling:
- Amir’s wickets came in the middle overs when the Kings were looking to accelerate their scoring. He bowled with great control and variation, and his yorkers were particularly effective.
- Pitman’s wickets came at the death when the Kings were trying to take the game away from the Tridents. He bowled with great pace and accuracy, and his slower ball was a major weapon.
- Both Amir and Pitman are experienced bowlers who have played at the highest level. They are both capable of taking wickets in all conditions, and they will be a major threat to the other teams in the CPL
