Brandon King Biography

Jamaican cricketer Brandon Alexander King who plays for West Indies was born on December 16, in the year 1994. King competed in the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup as a member of the West Indies team. In the month of November of the year 2019, Brandon King made his debut for the West Indies cricket team on the international stage.

Domestic Cricket Career

In domestic cricket, Brandon Alexander King represents Jamaica. In the Regional Four Day Competition in 2014–15 and the Regional Super50 in 2015–16, he made his first-class and List A debuts, respectively. The St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots selected Brandon Alexander King in the ninth round of the 2017 CPL player draught. Brandon King made his Twenty20 debut for the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League on August 5, of the year 2017.

King was selected for the Cricket West Indies B Team roster for the inaugural Global T20 Canada competition in June 2018.

In a 72-ball inning against the Barbados Tridents in Providence on October 6, 2019, King scored 132 not out, the highest CPL innings ever, with 10 fours and 11 sixes as the Guyana Amazon Warriors advanced to the Caribbean Premier League final. Brandon King was included in the Guyana Amazon Warriors roster for the 2020 Caribbean Premier League in the month of July of that year. King hit his 1,000th run in Twenty20 cricket on September 1st, of the year 2020.

International Cricket Career

The West Indies One Day International (ODI) and T20I teams for their series against Afghanistan in India were announced in the month of October of the year 2019. King was included in both squads. On November 11, of the year 2019, Brandon King played in his first One Day International for the West Indies against Afghanistan. On November 14, of the year 2019, Brandon Alexander King made his West Indies T20I debut, also against Afghanistan.
