Claudio Bravo is a Chilean professional Footballer who plays as a Goalkeeper for the Premier League club, Manchester City and captains the Chile national team.

EARLY LIFE

Bravo was born on 13^th April 1983 in Viluco, Chile. He started playing from the Chilean football COLO-COLO a club based in Macul, Santiago as a part of its youth academy

PERSONAL LIFE

Bravo married his long-time girlfriend Carla Pardo in 2017 in a civil ceremony. The couple is blessed with four children.

CLUB CAREER

In 2002 was promoted to the senior side of the club. In 2006 he won his first title, making an acrobatic save in the penalty shootout final win against arch-rival C.F Universidad de Chile.

Bravo in the same year left the Chilean football club to join Real Sociedad for a five-year contract for 1.2 million euros. He made his League debut in October 2006 in the game against Mallorca that ended in a draw.

On 14^th February 2010 Bravo netted his first goal against Gimnatic de Tarragona, but during the game, he suffered a knee injury.

Having made 237 appearances for the club, Bravo lured to Barcelona in the 2014 summer. Playing for the club he played a crucial role in winning the 2014 -15 La Liga, Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League.

Next year he was seen again assisting the team in conquering 2015-16 La Liga, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

On 25^th August 2016, Braco signed a four-year deal with the English club Manchester City for a reported fee of 17 million euros. He made his debut for the club on 10^th September 2016 in a 2-1 win over local rivals Manchester United.

Playing for the club he assisted the club with the 2017-18 Premier League, EFL Cup and the 2018 & 2019 FA Community Shield.

INTERNATIONAL CAREER

Bravo has been part of its national team as a part of the Under-17, 20 and 23 level squad. He made his debut from the senior side of the team from 11^th July 2004.

During his tenure, he contributed his gameplay in major tournaments like the World Cup, Copa America and FIFA Confederations Cup.

CONTROVERSY

After the 2018 World Cup qualifier between Peru and Chile ended 4-3 in favor of the latter. Offensive writings were found written in the home team’s dressing room reading RESPECT, AMERICA’S CHAMPIONS WERE HERE

The incident was hugely criticized by the media in South America. Two years later it was revealed that Bravo was the one who wrote those sentences.
