India’s chief selector, MSK Prasad has mentioned that he is happy about the fact that the team’s key players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, and Shikhar Dhawan have made huge progress after suffering from injuries.

Hardik Pandya and Bhuveneshwar Kumar have been away from the team since last year, whereas Dhawan last played a game in January during the India-Australia ODI series.

Men in blue have been struggling with injuries quietly lately in recent times. And India is one of the busiest teams in world cricket and their schedule remains highly tight across all formats. And it has been affecting the team’s performance has it has led to a lack of rest for the players and they have suffered from numerous injuries. So was the case with vice-caption Rohit Sharma. He suffered from an injury as well in the last T20 game against New Zealand.

While on the other hand, fast bowler Ishant Sharma suffered from an ankle injury in a Ranji match against Vidarbha but somehow managed to join the team for the Tests. However, his injury has made a comeback after the first Test and he could not play the second game.

While chief selector, MSK Prasad stated that he is happy with Indian Players’ Rehabilitation:

“I am here to watch Shikhar Dhawan playing in the DY Patil tournament. I am here especially to watch Dhawan, Bhuvi, and Hardik. I am happy with the way they are progressing,”Prasad told ANI.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli had a disastrous season with the bat in New Zealand. He struggled for runs throughout the tour and it looked like that the old Virat Kohli who suffered in England way back in 2014, has made a comeback once again

However, Prasad came to his rescue and said that Kohli has been a run-machine for India in the last few years and one bad tour doesn’t change anything.

“We are talking about a legend who has been a run-machine for many years. He is also a human and he can have one odd series where he doesn’t perform. One series should not go against him, he has been a phenomenal player, Prasad said.
