Cheteshwar Pujara, the key player of India’s Test circuit on Saturday turned 32. On this occasion, the cricket fraternity took to Twitter and poured wishes to the batsman. He played an important role in India’s maiden Test series win in Australia in the 2018-19 season.

He amassed 521 runs which included three centuries, in the four-matches he played in that series and also won Player of the Series award. He scored centuries in Adelaide, Melbourne, and Perth and impressed everyone in the cricket world.

“Pujara needs priest’s blessing to get out! Happy birthday Cheteshwar Pujara. Have a great one,” tweeted Sachin Tendulkar in Marathi.

“Many more happy returns of the day to an absolute batting great of this generation – Cheteshwar Pujara. India very lucky to have someone like you and wish you lots of success in the coming years,” shared Mohammad Kaif.

Teammate of Pujara, Wriddhiman Saha added: “Happiest Birthday Cheteshwar Pujara. May you be gifted with life’s biggest joys and never-ending bliss.”

Pujara has scored 5,740 runs in 75 Tests which came at an average of 49.48. Having made his Test debut in October 2010, Pujara has smashed 18 centuries and 24 fifties so far. However, Pujara had a below-par home series against Bangladesh as he managed to score only 109 runs in the two Tests.

Meanwhile, Pujara will be in the Test squad of India for the upcoming series in New Zealand which will begin from February 21. The right-handed batsman has played only two Tests in New Zealand so far where he has scored 60 runs in four innings. However, Pujara will be looking to have an improved season with the bat in New Zealand.
