Boxer Saweety Boora’s criminal charges against husband Deepak Hooda Intensify

India’s former world champion boxer Saweety Boora has been in news for quite some time now, for infamous and negative reasons majorly.

Recently, a video of hers went viral on social media, where she is seen attacking her husband and Kabaddi player Deepak Niwas Hooda inside a police station in Haryana, amidst their divorce proceedings. The scenes turned ugly after she grabbed him by the throat.

For the uninitiated, Deepak Hooda and Saweety Boora tied the knot in July 2022. However, trouble started brewing in their marital paradise. In a shocking turn of events, she has now claimed that her husband, Deepak Hooda, is interested in men.

The 32-year-old shared a video on her Instagram account, where she is seen breaking down while stating she is ready to take legal action against Deepak. She also stated that her husband’s nasty behaviour has left her with no option but to show the reality publicly.

In an Instagram video, Saweety Boora said, “I didn’t want to say anything inappropriate, but I feel compelled to share that he has shown an interest in men. I was shocked when I came across videos of him with other men. I never intended to go down this path, but I will present all the evidence in court. I didn’t want to speak about this publicly, but my husband refuses to take responsibility,” Boora said.

“I have all the videos and proof, which I will submit to the court. I will show everything he made me go through. I initially wanted a simple divorce, but now I am left with no choice,” she added.

“The things I felt too embarrassed to discuss, even with my parents, I now have to address publicly because of his actions. I will prove everything in court, as I have not made any false accusations like he has,” Boora said.

As per several reports, Boora has already filed for divorce earlier, accusing the kabaddi player of dowry harassment and assault.

In their brawl video being circulated all over, Boora was seen lunging towards Hooda during a conversation and holding him by his throat. The family members of the estranged couple had to meddle in to separate them., but a heated argument continued inside the station premises.

As per a report published in India Today, Saweety Boora informed the Hisar SP on March 11, 2025, that she no longer wished to stay with her husband Hooda under one roof. On the other hand, Hooda claimed that he was summoned to the Hisar police station on March 15, where he was assaulted during questioning.

When the PTI reached out to Hooda, he defended his absence by citing that his health had downgraded due to the entire fiasco. “I have submitted a medical certificate and requested a later date. I will certainly go there (to the police station) but I won’t make a negative comment against my wife. I have not been allowed to meet her,” he said.

Boora and Hooda, both being recipients of the esteemed Arjuna Award are seeming to be washing their dirty linen in public. Their accusations on each other have come as a big shocker for the readers, signifying how the institution of marriage is crumbling today.

Such controversial remarks by a wife on her husband are definitely a big concern and whether there is substance in these allegations or not is something only the judiciary will tell, as the matter is currently sub-judice.

The story of Deepak Hooda and Saweety Boora indicates that everything seems fancy on social media, although there are huge differences in real life, with so many negative things coming up about the couple.
