“Arjun Has Surpassed Sachin …” Ravi Shastri says on Father-Son Duo

"Arjun Has Surpassed Sachin ...'' Ravi Shastri says on Father-Son Duo

The IPL 2023 match between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings will play place on Saturday night at the Wankhede Stadium. Arjun Tendulkar, the son of legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, helped MI defeat SunRisers Hyderabad in their previous game by protecting 20 runs in the final over. Arjun picked up his first IPL wicket on the penultimate pitch of the game, defeating SRH’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar—a feat his father was unable to do while competing in the lucrative competition.

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri lauded Arjun before MI’s match against PBKS for his “clarity of thought” when bowling the final over against SRH.

“Arjun’s yorkers in the final over were executed with clarity of thought. He did a fantastic job on the adjustment in tempo, and he has now accomplished something that his father was unable to. On the ‘Cricket Live’ programme on Star Sports, Shastri stated that Arjun had eclipsed Sachin, who has never had an IPL wicket.

Mumbai Indians, who are currently ranked sixth in the points standings, had a rough start with losses in their first two games, but they were able to convincingly recover with victories over Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In their upcoming match against PBKS, the team captained by Rohit Sharma is aiming for a fourth straight victory. PBKS has struggled without its normal skipper and leading run-scorer Shikhar Dhawan, who is unlikely to play against his previous team.

PBKS, who is currently sixth in the standings, has three victories to their name out of a total of six games, but all three of their losses have come in their previous four games.
