At the moment, Raina is the top Indian female Tennis player given Sania Mirza who reached the highest rankings of 27 in singles, is not much active in the sport these days.
Ankita Raina has won 8 singles and 14 doubles WTA challenger titles in ITF women’s circuit. She also bagged 2 gold medals in women’s singles and mixed doubles in South Asian games 2016.
But there was also a phase in her career, where she didn’t have the money to afford a coach or a hitting partner, but those struggles made her what she is today.
Once she broke the news of becoming number 1 in both singles and doubles, her Twitter feed was flooded with whole-hearted congratulatory messages praising her for her marvelous feat and making India proud on the international podium.
