She grew up playing cricket and her on-field cricketing skills earned her a place in the Warwickshire club at the age of just 15. Amy started playing for Warwickshire Club from 2008 when she was just 15 years old. The wicket-keeper batsman made her first appearance on the national side in the 2013 Women World Cup where she made her debut playing against Sri Lanka which England lost in the final ball. She was the second-highest scorer for her team despite the loss. Before that, she was included in the England Women T20 squad for the 2012 Women T20 World Cup but didn’t get a single game to play. However, she made her T20 debut in 2013 when the Pakistan Women team toured England. 

She played only a handful of Internationals matches as a specialist batsman between 2013 and 2015. In 2015 Amy was named in the England Women’s squad for the Women’s Ashes series. She played in the ODI matches but was replaced by Fran Wilson due to poor performance. In the same year, she was named as one of the England women’s Academy squad tour to Dubai, for two ODI matches against Australia. 

Amy made her Women Big Bash League debut in 2018-19 season when she was acquired by the  Perth Scorchers’ squad for the 2018–19 Women’s Big Bash League season. Besides, Amy is the holder of one of the first tranche of 18 ECB central contracts for women players, which were announced in April 2014. Amy is also named in the England Women’s squad for the 2020 T20I World Cup.
