P.A.Amoj Jacob was born on the 2^nd May 1998 in the national capital Delhi. He is a track and field athlete who is specialized in 400m and 800m sprints. He attended SGTB Khalsa College in New Delhi.

Amoj Jacob has won two medals at the Asian Junior Championships. In the 2016 Asian Junior Championships, he took home gold in the men’s 800-meter race and silver in the men’s 4×400 meter relay. Amoj Jacob ran a personal best in the 400 meters in March of this year at a competition in Patiala, clocking 45.68 seconds.

Amoj was part of the historic Indian Men’s relay team that won the gold medal at the Asian Athletics Championships. The team which had names like Kunhu Muhammed, Arokia Rajiv, and Mohammad Anas clocked 3:02.92, the season-best time in Asia, to give India its first gold at the event since Seoul 1975. Amoj Jacob was given the task of running the anchor leg while Anas Muhammed was at the starting line for the second heat.

In a relay race, the anchor leg is the last place. Amoj Jacob serving as the anchor leg turned out to be the best choice for India. He won the gold medal at the National Inter State Senior Athletics Championship In 2022 with a time of 45.68 sec. Now he is ready to represent India at the Commonwealth Games this year.

Amoj has healed from the hamstring injury he sustained during the Inter-State national meet in Chennai last month, which caused him to withdraw from the men’s 4x400m relay team for the World Athletics championships.
