"Yeh thoda jyada nahi ho gaya" Mohammad Kaif slams DRS Over Rohit Sharma's Dismissal

One of the talking points of the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season has been Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI). Rohit once again did not contribute with the bat during the match on Tuesday against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

In the fifth over of MI’s 200-run chase, Wanindu Hasaranga bowled him out for seven (8) runs. But after a DRS call from the RCB and a rather contentious ruling from the third umpire, he was dismissed.

When Hasaranga’s ball touched Rohit on his left pad, the RCB spinner yelled “LBW!” but the on-field umpire rejected the appeal.

The verdict was soon contested by RCB, and the ball tracking revealed three reds. Former India Cricketer Mohammad Kaif was perplexed by the DRS decision after Rohit was dismissed, despite the fact that the on-field umpire had to modify his first ruling.

Kaif tweeted “Hello, DRS. Thoda jyada nahi ho gaya, yes? “How can this be lbw?

Rohit established an unfavourable batting record after being dismissed against RCB.

For the first time in his IPL history, Rohit’s innings was his fifth straight score in the single digits in the 2023 season. Prior to this, he had four innings with scores of 2, 3, 0, and 0. When he was dismissed for 3, 2, 4, and 0 in his team’s first four games of the 2017 IPL season, it was his lowest performance to date before this.

His weakest IPL season as a hitter is expected to be this one. He has only scored 191 runs in 11 games, averaging 17.36 and having a 124.84 strike rate.
